Duke Defeats Wolfpack 4-0 In First Day of ACC Women's Tennis Action

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The No. 1 seeded Duke Blue Devils downed the No. 9 seeded NC State Wolfpack 4-0 to advance to the semifinals of 2002 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Millbrook Exchange Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.
Duke won the doubles point with victories from No. 2 Johnson-DeRoo and No. 3 Granson-Abromeit.
In singles action, the Blue Devils picked up three victories from Kelly McCain at No. 1, Amanda Johnson at No. 2, and Katie Granson at No. 6.
With the win Duke improves its record to 22-3 while NC State drops to 10-13. The Blue Devils will face the winner of Friday's match between No. 4 Clemson and No. 5 Georgia Tech on Saturday, April 20, at 10:00 a.m.
