March 5, 2013
RALEIGH, N.C. - The undefeated NC State women's tennis team will travel to Tampa, Fla., Wednesday, Mar. 6, to face the University of South Florida. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Wolfpack (7-0) is off to its best start since the team began the 2006 season with a program-best 8-0 record. Last Time Out: The Pack picked up its first ACC victory of the season in a 5-2 decision at Wake Forest last Saturday afternoon. NC State won all three doubles matches, before taking four of six singles bouts to win the match. The Wolfpack has not lost the doubles point in a match this season, and freshman Rachael James-Baker clinched the overall match for the fourth time this season with a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win at No. 4 singles. Scouting USF: The Bulls enter Wednesday's contest with a 5-4 record after having its four-match win streak snapped at Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday. The squad is led by 78th-ranked Katie Vasenina who owns a 4-4 mark at No. 1 singles. USF escaped with a 4-3 victory over NC State in last year’s meeting in Raleigh. Match Notes:
