RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team will return to action on Wednesday, March 21, against No. 15 North Carolina. The Wolfpack and the Tarheels will face off at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., at 2:30 p.m.
NC State went 1-1 in competition last week, topping No. 65 William & Mary, but falling to No. 5 Duke. The Pack defeated the Tribe at home, to remain undefeated on the outdoor courts at the J.W. Isenhower Tennis Center.
NC State owns a record of 5-8 (1-1 ACC) on the year. The Wolfpack has one netter ranked in singles action. Sophomore Joelle Kissell, who is 8-5 on the young season, is No. 60 in the most recent poll. Kissell has picked up three ranked wins so far this year, the most recent coming against No. 109 Maria Belaya of William & Mary.
No. 15 North Carolina owns an 11-4 record on the year. The Tarheels are coming off of a 4-3 victory over No. 18 Michigan.
Four netters are ranked in singles action for North Carolina. No. 26 Lauren McHale, No. 33 Zoe De Bruycker, No. 96 Caroline Price and No. 118 Shinann Featherston are all in the most recent poll. Featherston and McHale are ranked No. 13 in doubles action. The duo of Tessa Lyons and Haley Hemm are also in the doubles poll, coming in at No. 53.
