Women's Tennis Travels to Georgia Tech, Clemson
The No. 45 NC State women’s tennis team will travel this weekend for a pair of conference road games. The weekend will begin with a trip to Atlanta to take on No. 3 Georgia Tech before traveling to No. 28 Clemson on Sunday. The Pack is currently 10-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play this season. Georgia Tech is 11-5 overall and 3-1 in the league while Clemson is 6-9 overall and 2-3 in conference matches.
Leading the way for the Pack this season has been Berkley Brock and Julia Roach. Brock is 10-5 in singles this season and is a perfect 3-0 at No. 1 singles this season. Roach is also 10-5 this year and is only six wins away from having the most all-time singles victories in school history. She has also teamed with Lenka Hojckova to post an impressive 11-3 record in doubles and is only six wins away from having the most doubles victories in school history as well.
Georgia Tech and Clemson each have an exceptional amount of talent on their teams. Amanda McDowell (No. 4), Kristi Miller (No. 6), Maya Johansson (No. 29), Whitney McCray (No. 39), Christy Striplin (No. 79) and Noelle Hickey (No. 107) are all ranked for Georgia Tech in the latest ITA singles rankings. Miller and McCray are ranked No. 14 in doubles and Miller also teams with Kirsten Flower to form the No. 16 tandem in the nation. Also ranked in doubles are McCray and Sasha Krupina who are tied for 50th in the rankings. Clemson is led by Ani Mijacika who is ranked No. 3 in singles and Federica van Adrichem who is ranked No. 124 in the nation. Those two also play together to form the No. 17 doubles team.
