Kissell Ranked Top-20 in ITA Preseason Rankings
RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State junior Joelle Kissell is ranked 19th in the country according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) 2012 preseason poll. Kissell is ranked second highest among players in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). "Joelle is an extremely hard worker," head coach Hans Olsen said. "Her development as a player is a credit to her ability to match her elite talent on the tennis court with her tremendous work ethic. She is currently applying that work ethic to the next steps in her game. I know that she is looking forward to getting this year started." Kissell finished the 2011-12 campaign with a 25-13 overall record and a 7-4 mark in ACC play. The Hostetter, Pa., native became the third player in program history to earn a bid in the NCAA Singles Championship in 2012, and the second ever to win her first round match. She finished the year ranked No. 32 overall. The Pack will open their fall season Sept. 21-23 at the Southern Shootout in Atlanta, Ga.
