RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team will make a short trip to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the 2012 USTA/ITA Regional Championships, Oct. 18-22, which will be hosted at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.

Most recently, the team competed in the USTA College Invitational in New York, where sophomore Elisha Hande posted a perfect 4-0 record to win her singles flight, while the doubles team comprised of junior Christy Sipes and sophomore Sophie Nelson reached the semifinals of their doubles flight. Hande leads the Pack with five singles victories so far this fall.

Junior and 19th-ranked Joelle Kissell earned an automatic bid to the main draw of the Riviera/ITA Championships, and despite losing her first round matchup, rebounded to reach the semifinals of the consolation draw. Kissell is 3-3 so far this fall in singles action, and has played against a ranked opponent in each match.

The Pack will send eight of its nine active players into the singles and doubles draws, and will be competing for individual spots at the ITA National Indoor Championships Nov. 8-11, in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
