Third-year head coach Bryan Bunn and his staff are well-known in and familiar with the Lone Star State. Three Wolfpack players are also from Texas. The Pack plays Texas A&M on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA volleyball championships.
After winning first set, NC State's volleyball team loses the next two and falls 15-7 in the decisive fifth set. The Pack will find out Sunday at 4 p.m. if it is selected for the 64-team NCAA Championship field for the first time since 1987.
2011 season Reliable starter at middle blocker all season for the Wolfpack. Named the Most Valuable Player at NC State's Courtyard Midtown Classic, played at Reynolds Coliseum. Played in 114 of the Wolfpack's 124 sets as a sophomore. Started 32 of the team's 33 contests during the season. Had a career-high nine total blocks in the Wolfpack's win over Wisconsin. Ranked second on the team with 12 solo blocks and 113 total blocks. Ranked fourth among regulars with a .266 attack average and 240 kills. Posted double-digit kill totals in nine contests. Had a career-high five digs at Clemson.
2010 season Played in 81 sets in 2010, tops among Pack freshmen. Notched 125 kills. Had 47 total blocks.
Preps, etc. Lettered in volleyball at Oviedo High School under head coach Chad Long. Helped lead her team to a 26-4 record and district championship as a senior. Scored 256 kills throughout the season. Paced the team in solo blocks with 38. Garnered first team all-conference honors in 2009. Named second-team Central Florida. A member of FACA All-Star team. Named the Orlando Sentinel Player of the week once in 2009. Served as team captain in 2009. Nominated for Florida Player of the Year her senior season. Honorable mention all-conference and third-team Central Florida as a junior. Named to the principal's list all four years. Majoring in biology.
