Jen Christian, a former standout player at the University of Texas, was named as an assistant coach on Bryan Bunn's staff on March 12, 2012.
Christian was most recently part of the coaching staff at Ali'i Girls Volleyball Club in Austin, Texas. She has also been an assistant coach at St. Stephens Prep School and a coach for the Austin Juniors Volleyball Club.
A 2008 graduate of Texas with a degree in health promotion and fitness, Christian played in 98 matches as an outside hitter during her four-year career with the Longhorns. She currently owns the school record with eight aces in a three-game match.
During her career, she helped the Longhorns return to both the Sweet 16 and the Elite Eight of the NCAA Volleyball Championship.
As a high school All-America her senior year, Christian was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Arizona and was ranked the eighth-best player in the nation by Prepvolleyball.com, after leading Gilbert (Ariz.) High School to the state 5-A championship.
A native of Phoenix, Christian grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where she played middle school volleyball for current Wolfpack assistant coach Pete Hoyer. She returned to Arizona prior to her freshman year of high school and began a well-decorated prep career.
Christian, 26, is also a strength and conditioning coach and a certified personal trainer.
