    NC State Volleyball Is Flavored With Texas Influences

    Third-year head coach Bryan Bunn and his staff are well-known in and familiar with the Lone Star State. Three Wolfpack players are also from Texas. The Pack plays Texas A&M on Thursday at 5 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA volleyball championships.

    Pack Volleyball Falls 3-2 at No. 23 North Carolina

    After winning first set, NC State's volleyball team loses the next two and falls 15-7 in the decisive fifth set. The Pack will find out Sunday at 4 p.m. if it is selected for the 64-team NCAA Championship field for the first time since 1987.

    2011 season

    • Twice earned ACC Freshman of the Week honors in her inaugural collegiate campaign.

    • Became the first Wolfpack player to ever win the award, which began in 2010, when she earned it on Sept. 12 for her play in the Hilton Garden Inn Mayfaire Classic in Wilmington, N.C.

    • She was named Most Valuable Player and to the all-tournament team after posting 39 kills, a .333 hitting average, 21 digs and 10 total blocks in the Wolfpack's three games.

    • Also named ACC Freshman of the Week on Oct. 10 after posting 50 kills and 53 points against ACC opponents North Carolina, Miami and Florida State.

    • Had a career-high 21 kills and 21 points against Miami, with a hitting percentage of .286.

    • Posted career highs of 14 digs at Clemson, .524 hitting percentage against Charlotte and seven total blocks against Charleston Southern.

    • Had a team-high 25 service aces on the season, including three each in matches against Charlotte, East Carolina and Clemson.

    • Finished her first season with 271 kills, 39 assists, 26 aces, 211 digs and 51 total blocks, while hitting .149.

    • Named to Denver Post All-Colorado first team in 2009.

    • Honored as an AVCA preseason All-American and one of Prep Volleyball's top 250 seniors.

    • Led her high school squad to a runner-up finish in the Colorado state tournament in 2010.
