    Rightside Cassie McLaughlin, outside hitter Sarah Griffin and middle blocker Aisha Carr finished with 13, 13 and 12 kills respectively to lead Florida State to a 3-1 win over NC State in volleyball action Friday night at Reynolds Coliseum. The victory moved the Seminoles to 9-4 overall, 1-0 in the ACC, while the Wolfpack fell to 6-9, 0-2 in conference play.

    Florida State took the early lead in the match with a 30-28 win in game one. But NC State would battle back to take game two by the score of 30-27. The two teams would wage war in a seesaw battle during the next game, but it was the Seminoles that came out on top, 30-28. FSU would seal up its first conference win of 2003 with a 30-21 game four victory.

    Freshman outside hitter Julia Reis led the way for the Wolfpack, finishing with a match-best 15 kills to go with a team-best 18 digs. Junior middle blocker Maya Mapp added nine kills off a .280 attack percentage and sophomore outside hitter Adeola Kosoko tacked on eight kills and 11 digs of her own. Senior setter Crystal Shannon dished out a match-high 39 assists on the night.

    For FSU, McLaughlin also came up big defensively, tallying a match-high 19 digs, while libero Cerina Pele added 16 digs. Setters Jennifer Anderson and Jessica Skower finished with 37 and 18 assists respectively.

    The Wolfpack will now face the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night in Reynolds Coliseum. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
