Two Pack Volleyball Freshmen to Compete in USA Nationals

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State volleyball will have two of its incoming freshmen, Kaitlyn Kearney and Erica Narel, competing in the 2014 Women’s Junior Volleyball National Championships held in Minneapolis, Minn., this weekend.
The four-day event, which begins on Saturday, June 28 and concludes on Tuesday, July 1, will be held in the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Unfortunately, Kearney and Narel will have to wait a few more months before competing as teammates. Kearney will compete in the event as a member of the Madfrog Volleyball Club of the North Texas region, while Narel will represent the Metro American Volleyball Club of the Chesapeake area.
Both players will participate in the 18U open division of the championships.
Kearney is a 6-2 middle blocker from Frisco, Texas, while Narel is also a middle blocker standing at 5-11 from Fairfax Station, Va.
The Wolfpack began fall workouts on Thursday and kicks off the 2014 campaign with its annual Wolfpack Challenge intrasquad match on Friday, Aug. 22. NC State officially opens the season the following weekend at the UNCW Tournament against Eastern Washington on Aug. 29.
