    RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's volleyball team will have an important home stand this weekend, when it faces Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 11 and Duke on Sunday, Oct. 13. Friday's match is slated to begin at 7 p.m., while first serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. against the Blue Devils on Sunday.

     

     

    Admission is free to both matches and both contests will be streamed live on GoPack.com. 

    The Wolfpack (12-4, 3-1 ACC) is coming off a strong weekend, highlighted by road wins at Boston College on Friday and Syracuse on Sunday. State collected its sixth shutout of the season against the Eagles, 3-0, and defeated the Orange by a final score of 3-1.

    Junior Nikki Glass led the Wolfpack's offensive attack on Friday with eight kills, while classmate Dariyan Hopper paced the squad on Sunday with 16 kills.

    THE HIGHER, THE BETTER
    NC State is 11-0 on the season when recording a higher hitting percentage than its opponent. As a team, the Pack is hitting .226 and has limited its opponents to a mere .141 attacking average.

    When tallying a hitting percentage between .200-.299, State is 6-1. The squad is unbeaten when registering an attacking average between .300-.399 at 5-0.

    WE'LL LEAD, YOU FOLLOW
    The Wolfpack has played a total of 12 sets this season in which it has scored the first point, never trailed in the set, nor had the score tied.

    In addition, there are eight other sets that the Pack has led the entire time, but the opponent has tied the score at some point in the frame. 

    SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
    The Wake Forest Demon Deacons enter Friday's match with a 12-4 record on the season and a 1-3 mark in conference play. The Deacs split a pair of contests over the weekend, defeating Notre Dame on Friday, 3-2, before falling to Duke on Sunday, 3-0.

    Seniors Kristin Grissom and Kylie Hargreaves lead the offensive attack with 178 and 173 kills, respectively. Freshman Sophia Dodd serves as the team's setter and has tallied 489 assists this season. The team's libero, sophomore Megan Miller, leads the squad with 235 digs.

    Last season, NC State split the series with Wake Forest defeating the Deacons, 3-0 in Reynolds Coliseum and dropping a 3-2 contest in Winston-Salem, N.C. 

    SCOUTING DUKE
    The Duke Blue Devils have compiled a 13-2 record to this point in the season and a 4-0 mark in ACC action. Over the weekend, the squad topped Wake Forest in three sets after defeating Notre Dame in a mid-week tilt on Wednesday, 3-1. 

    The Blue Devils' outside hitters lead the squad offensively. Sophomore Emily Skylar leads the team with 178 kills, while junior Jeme Obeime has recorded 168. Junior Maggie Deichmeister is the team's setter and has dished out 547 assists. Senior libero Ali McCurdy paces the defense with 218 digs. 

    NC State defeated Duke at home last season in Reynolds Coliseum, 3-1, but suffered a tough 3-2 loss against the Devils in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
