RALEIGH, N.C. -
NC State volleyball travels to Clemson, S.C. and Atlanta, Ga., this weekend for two ACC matchups, which will conclude a four-match road trip for the Wolfpack. The squad will battle Clemson Friday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. before taking on Georgia Tech Sunday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m.
The Pack (12-7, 2-5 ACC) looks to rebound from last weekend's two-match ACC slide, where the squad dropped contests to Wake Forest and conference-leading Duke. Against the Demon Deacons, the NC State offense struggled, hitting at only a .150 clip for the match en route to the 1-3 defeat. Similarly, against Duke, the squad earned a .144 attack percentage, but allowed the Blue Devils to hit at a .310 clip.
Despite the two losses, the Pack has still eclipsed more wins (12) and conference victories (2) midway through the season than the 2009 team did all of last year.
Though Clemson (11-7, 2-5 ACC) boasts a 37-15 all-time advantage over the Wolfpack, NC State is primed to take its first match from the Tigers since 1997. Last weekend, Clemson fell to both Florida State and Miami by a 3-1 margin. However, the squad holds opponents to a .176 hitting percentage, which ranks fourth in the ACC.
In last weekends action, Georgia Tech (11-7, 4-3 ACC) defeated Miami 3-2 and swept Florida State in straight sets. The squad is led by reigning ACC Player of the Week Monique Mead, who paces the ACC in kills with 4.41 per set.
Gametracker will be available for both matches.
