NC State Volleyball Faces Two Road Contests This Weekend

The NC State volleyball team travels to Virginia and Maryland this weekend, looking for their first ACC win of the season. The Wolfpack will face Virginia, Friday at 8 p.m. in University Hall, followed by a match against Maryland, Saturday at 5 p.m. in Ritchie Coliseum.
NC State (3-20, 0-5 ACC) enters this weekend lead by sophomore middle blockers Maya Mapp and Sarah Ensminger. Mapp leads the team with 227 kills off an attack percentage of .304, which is the seventh best mark in the conference in that category. Ensminger follows with 172 kills off a percentage of .189 and leads the team in blocks with 73. Setter Lindi Sheppard is currently ranked seventh in the conference in assists with 713 on the season, an average of 9.03 a game.
The Wolfpack's Friday opponent, the Cavaliers (6-16, 0-6), are lead by junior Paige Davis and senior Simona Kuipers. Kuipers leads the team with an attack percentage of .205 and a team high of 71 blocks, while Davis contributes a team high of 220 kills.
Meanwhile, the Terrapins (13-8, 2-4) are lead by junior Lynnsy Jones, freshman Rachael Wagoner and redshirt freshman Sterphanie Smith. Jones leads the team in kills with 364 thus far on the year. Wagner, while playing in only 56 of Maryland's 80 games, is the team's leader in attack percentage with .323, while Smith has stepped up defensively for the Terps, totaling a team high 60 total blocks.
