    RALEIGH, N.C. -

NC State volleyball plays host to ACC foes Wake Forest and Duke this week in league play.  The Wolfpack will take on the Demon Deacons Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m., and the Blue Devils Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.  Both contests will be held in Reynolds Coliseum and are free to the public.

The Pack (13-12, 3-10 ACC) looks to build on last weekend’s success, where the squad picked up its third ACC victory of the 2010 season by defeating Boston College.   This marks only the second time since 1999 the program has earned three wins in conference play.  In addition, the 13 total wins are the most for NC State since 1999 when the Pack went 16-19.

Margaret Salata leads the Wolfpack offense in the 2010 season with 239 kills, good for 2.88 per set.  She also paces the squad with 1.14 blocks per set, having earned 95 total on year, ranking her third in the ACC.  Megan Cyr has dished out a team-leading 894 assists in 2010, which also ranks her sixth in the league.

Junior Luciana Shafer narrowly trails Salata in kills, having scored 226 to go along with 233 digs and a team-leading 24 service aces in her first season with the Wolfpack.

Defensively, Kelly Wood has earned 299 digs thus far in 2010, including 18 double-digit performances.

The Pack has already battled both Wake Forest and Duke this season, falling to both.  Against the Demon Deacons, the squad dropped the contest 1-3 behind a .150 attack percentage.  Similarly, in the match versus Duke, NC State managed to hit at just a .144 clip en route to being swept by the Blue Devils.

In last weekend’s action, Wake Forest (14-9, 7-6 ACC) fell to Georgia Tech in straight-sets, but rallied to defeat Clemson 3-1.  The Demon Deacons are led offensively by Kadija Fornah, who has scored 259 kills this season to go along with 26 service aces.

Duke (19-4, 11-2 ACC), which defeated both Clemson (3-1) and Georgia Tech (3-0) last weekend, sits tied atop the ACC with North Carolina.  The squad is led by three-time ACC Player of the Week Amanda Robertson, who averages 2.77 kills and 2.55 digs per set.
