Eagles End Pack's Season, 3-0
Chestnut Hill, Mass. – The NC State volleyball team’s season came to an end with a loss, 3-0, to Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 25, in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Eagles out-hit the Pack .197 to .119 in the red and white’s 24th consecutive loss. Jessica Williams led the Wolfpack with 10 kills, as Allison Davis hoisted 21 assists. NC State ends its season with a 2-29 (0-22 ACC) record, while Boston College climbs to 12-19 (10-12 ACC).
The Pack drilled 11 kills on a .061 hitting percentage in game one, falling 30-25. The Eagles took a 3-2 lead early on a kill from Lia Krautmanis and controlled the frame for the rest of play. NC State shrunk BC’s lead to three points, 28-25, late in the game, but the Eagles capitalized on consecutive attacks errors by the Pack to take the first battle.
NC State grabbed the first two points of the second dance, but Boston College responded by collecting five straight and holding the lead for the rest of the way. BC hit a match-high .333 while committing just three miscues. Holding a 20-16 advantage, the Eagles went on a seven-point tear, boosting its lead to 27-16. From that point forward the Wolfpack would only grab one more point on a BC service error, as the Eagles took the win, 30-17.
The red and white offered its best statistical performance of the night in the third and final game, hitting .200 and collecting a match-high 13 kills. In a see saw performance that saw nine score ties and two lead changes, NC State pulled to within two points, 28-26, late in play. The Eagles wouldn’t relent, however, grabbing its final point on a Keri DeMar attack error for the victory, 30-26.
