Cyr Earns AVCA All-America Honors

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State senior setter Megan Cyr, a stalwart on the Wolfpack volleyball team that qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time in 25 years, was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Honorable Mention All-American team. Cyr, who ranks third all-time in career assists, helped guide the Wolfpack to a 22-10 overall record and a 12-8 ACC mark, the Pack's first winning season in conference play since 1988. Cyr was one of 14 ACC players recognized for their performances this year by the AVCA. Ashley Neff of Florida State, Monique Mead of Georgia Tech, and Emani Sims of Miami were selected to the All-America Third Team. Ten other ACC players joined Cyr in honorable-mention accolades: Clemson's Sandra Adeleye; Duke's Ali McCurdy; Florida State's Sareea Freeman and Fatma Yildirim; Maryland's Ashleigh Crutcher; Miami's Alex Johnson, Alexis Mourning, and Nrithya Sundarararman and North Carolina's Emily McGee and Paige Neuenfeldt.
