    J. L. "Buzzy" Correll returned to the Wolfpack Club in July of 2006, after serving two years as the Executive Director of the Patriot Club/Associate Athletics Director of Development for George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. He currently leads all sales and marketing for Vaughn Towers suites and Dail Club seats, as well as oversees the Wolfpack Club's major gift initiatives, including capital campaigns and the scholarship endowment program.

During his two year's at George Mason, he was instrumental in revamping the Patriot Club's focus, creating a new giving level called the Green Coat Society, and bringing together a wide range of donors for Patriot Athletics. While at Mason, the men's basketball team captured the nation's attention by defeating the number one seeded UCONN Huskies in the Elite Eight, and advancing to the NCAA Final Four. Correll was responsible for all donor activities surrounding the 2006 Final Four in Indianapolis, including a Formal Gala honoring the team just a few weeks after the Championship. He previous worked at the Wolfpack Club from 1994 - 2004, most recently as the associate director in charge of marketing and operations of donor services, lifetime seating rights, men's basketball and football tickets, specialty clubs, donor travel and special events. He managed volunteer representatives and fundraising activities in the mid-Atlantic, New England and mid-western states.

The Hickory, N.C. native earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and his Master of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (Sport Management) from NC State University. He was a student-athlete earning a varsity letter during the 1990-91 season as he cheered on Wolfpack sports as the mascot. After graduation in 1992, Correll landed his first job in sports, working as the director of community/media relations for the Hickory Crawdads, a minor league baseball team. He was responsible for sales, game day promotions and employee management for the first-year minor league baseball team.

James "Buzzy" Correll and his wife Tracy have a son, Carson, and daughter, Audrey. They reside in Apex.
