Luke serves the sports medicine department by collaborating with the physicians, athletic training and strength and conditioning staff to design rehabilitation protocols for both surgical and non-surgical injuries. He joined the NCSU staff in 2004 after founding Trinity Wellness Center with his wife Emily in 2002. Over the years, Luke has assisted with student-athletes of all sports at NCSU and his private practice serves as a partner to amateur and professional athletes throughout the community, including the Puma Elite Running Team, Triangle Volleyball Club, Raleigh School of Gymnastics, Marlins of Raleigh and the Triangle Rock Club.
Luke became a part of the Wolfpack originally in 1994 when he came to NCSU to participate on the basketball team. He twice was awarded the Jon Speak’s award for Best Teammate and was a three time part of the All ACC Academic team. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology Magna Cum Laude in 1998. He then attended UNC-Chapel Hill where he graduated with a Master’s of Physical Therapy in 2000.
Luke has gone on to become ABPTS Board Certified in both Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. He is certified in Integrated Dry Needling, Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation, Functional Movement Screening Level 1 and 2 and SFMA. He has been a guest speaker to a variety of athletic clubs and regularly designs injury prevention programs for youth sports programs.
In his spare time Luke enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters as well as running, working out and traveling.
