Mackenzi joined the wrestling program in August of 2022, completing four seasons with the Pack, she plays a vital role for the team in addition to the Wolfpack RTC as well.

Prior to moving to Raleigh, she spent one season as the Director of Volleyball Operations at Wake Forest University where she coordinated the team's travel and daily activities. She also assisted with community service and marketing efforts.

Prior to Wake Forest, Wood was a member of the West Virginia University Wrestling Program where she worked alongside staff; coordinating coaches and athletes schedules, planning travel, organizing meals during competitions, and assisting in their fundraising efforts which led to a state of the art wrestling lounge being constructed before her graduation.

She graduated from West Virginia University in 2020 with her Bachelors in Political Science and minors in Sports Communications and Entrepreneurial Studies.
