Matt Schick joined the Wolfpack before the 2016 school year as the Assistant Director of Operations for NC State Track & Field and Cross Country after serving the program as a graduate assistant. He also competed with the NC State cross country and track & field programs from 2010-14.

During his time as a student-athlete, he made appearances at the 2013 NCAA Southeast Regional for cross country and competed at the 2013 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Schick graduated in December of 2014 with a degree in criminology.
