Strength Training Facilities
NC State Wolfpack football has the advantage of training in what could be the largest strength and conditioning facility in the country devoted solely to football. The Wolfpack trains in a 14,000 + square-foot facility that overlooks the playing field. The bright, open area spans the entire width of the Murphy Center football complex, and includes over 15 tons of weights, plus other machines and equipment. In addition to a 70-yard running track, the facility includes 12 self-contained power stations, 12 olympic platforms and over 30 pieces of "selecterized" equipment, all resting on a spring-loaded floor. The facility also houses a 5,000 square-foot agility and quickness room and a juice bar to provide nourishment while the players are working out. The Weisiger-Brown weight room is home to the men's basketball team along with the baseball, soccer, track, wrestling, and swimming and diving teams. The recently renovated facility is located right off the basketball court of the Dail Basketball Center. One of the striking features of this facility is the 18 X 45 ft. mezzanine overlooking the main weight room floor. The mezzanine holds the cardio equipment, which includes treadmills, steppers, bikes, and elliptical machines. The spaciousness of the facility is enhanced by the 30-foot high cathedral ceiling and six 14 X 14 ft. windows that virtually open one entire side of the room, bringing in light and a feeling of openness. The facility is amply equipped with power racks, multi-station lat machines, "selecterized" equipment and 2 complete and separate dumbbell areas. The NC State athletics department now boasts over 25,000 square feet of strength and conditioning facilities with the recent opening of the Reynolds Coliseum weight room. The weight room is conveniently located adjacent to the Reynolds training room and right down the corridor form the team locker rooms. The Reynolds weight room is equipped similarly to the Weisiger-Brown weight room having a great selection of steppers, treadmills, power stations, multi-station lat machines and a variety of "selecterized" equipment. The women's basketball team along with gymnastics, women's golf, softball, volleyball, and women's tennis enjoy the use of this facility. Murphy Center Weight Room Photos |
