STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
The Athletic Department at NC State places a very high premium on its Strength and Conditioning programs. We feel that developing a high level of overall fitness is the cornerstone of athletic improvement, and that cornerstone gives each athlete the foundation needed to reach their full potential in their given sport.
NC State boasts three weight training facilities. Each facility has on hand a seasoned strength and conditioning staff that is constantly fine tuning strength, speed and agility programs to ensure that each student-athlete is provided the opportunity to compete at the highest level.
State strength and conditioning is an evidence-based program designed around basic exercises (ground based and free weight training dominant), flexibility, movement screening, physical testing and the developmental level of the athlete. Equally important to physical preparation is the cultivation of an atmosphere that will accept no less than an elite level work ethic - a mental edge that can only be created through tenacity and vision.
