Rifle Improves to No. 12 in Latest Rankings

MURRAY, Ky. – After impressive showings in its last two matches, the NC State rifle team has jumped four spots in the latest Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) polls to No. 12. The Wolfpack was ranked 16th in the preseason and had moved up to No. 15.
State fired a season-high 4613 against No. 2 Kentucky and followed that performance with a score of 4608 versus No. 9 Memphis. The squad shot the second-highest air rifle score in program history against the Wildcats with a 2334 tally. The Pack compiled a score of 2294 in the smallbore competition versus the Tigers, its highest smallbore team score of the season.
The Wolfpack is 9-4 overall, 7-0 in the South Eastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) and 0-3 in the Great American Rifle Conference (GARC).
NC State returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 9 when it travels to Dahlonega, Ga., for the fifth SEARC match of the season.
