State Swimming & Diving Hosts UNC on Senior Day

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State swimming & diving teams will compete in their regular season finale on Saturday, Feb. 2, when the Pack hosts the North Carolina Tar Heels on senior day. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 11 a.m. in the Willis R. Casey Natatorium.
"We're looking forward to honoring our seniors in their last home meet on Saturday," said head coach Braden Holloway. "We have UNC coming, and they're a strong team so it should be a good meet."
The 22nd-ranked Wolfpack men's team enters the meet with an overall record of 5-3-1 and 2-1-1 in the ACC, while UNC is 5-1 and 2-1 and ranked 16th this week. The NC State women's squad is 8-3 overall and 4-1 in conference while UNC's women's team is ranked 14th at 4-2 and 2-1 in the ACC.
State's men's and women's teams defeated the UNCW Seahawks in its last outing, with the men winning, 176-119, while the women were victorious, 184-111. The Tar Heels men's team defeated Duke, 164-128, and the women's team won, 166-127, their last outing.
In last year's contest, the Wolfpack men's team was victorious against the Heels, 151-145, while the women fell, 178-119.
"We're trying to fine tune some things and be better than before," said Holloway. "We're continuing our track to be our best at the ACC's and in the postseason."
The seniors will be honored before the meet, with the ceremonies scheduled to begin 15 minutes prior to the meet. On the women's side, Allison Hendren, Marifrances Henley, Hannah Hopkins, Christina McCann and Julianna Prim will be recognized. Taylor Harris, Brandon Kingston, Ivan Kopas, Joe Martin and Hudson Rains are the five seniors from the men's team.
