Track & Field Wraps Up Day One at Bob Pollock Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. - The NC State track & field team wrapped up a solid first day at the Bob Pollock Classic, taking home top honors in three events while setting personal bests in two others.
Jule Rich finished first in the men's weight throw with a toss of 62'11.50", marking the second consecutive week Rich has finished in the top spot in the weight throw. Will Krehnbrink found himself in first in the men's 400 meter dash with a season best time of 50.06, while the women's 4X400m relay team of Sharese Roberts, Denae Ford, Tatyana Glasgow and Colleen McGuire crossed the finish line first with a mark of 3:57.25.
Josh Gandy nabbed a second-place finish in the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.53, while Alexis Perry finished in third in the women's 60m dash with a sprint of 7.87. Nicole Chavis finished second in the women's weight throw (63'10.50") behind two-time Olympian Amber Campbell, who was competing in the event unattached.
Nathaniel Williams, competing in the men's weight throw, finished in fourth with a toss of 56'01.25".
Shirlee Evans garnered an eighth-place finish in the women's long jump with a distance of 18'04.25", while SeQuoia Watkins also finished in eighth-place in her event, the women's weight throw, with a heave of 56'03.00". Ford (57.71), Glasgow (58.96) and McGuire (59.26) who finished in first as a team in the 4x400m relay, finished in third, fifth and eighth, respectively, in the women's 400m as individuals.
Rounding out the Wolfpack competitors who placed among the top-15 in their respective event was Cameron Cooper with an 11th-place finish (23.14) in the men's 200m dash and Sharese Roberts who came in 13th (25.97) in the women's 200m dash.
NC State will wrap up competition tomorrow at the event, hosted by Clemson University.
