Wolfpack Distance Runners to Race at Hoosier Open

RALEIGH, N.C. - Four members of the NC State track team, a group that includes redshirt senior Ryan Hill, redshirt junior Andrew Colley, redshirt senior Andie Cozzarelli and sophomore Joanna Thompson, will travel to Bloomington, Ind., this Friday, Dec. 7, for the Hoosier Open, hosted by Indiana University.
While numerous track and field events will take place at the meet, the Pack's quad of distance runners will compete in the men's and women's 5K races, respectively. The the women's race is currently scheduled for 8:35 p.m., while the men's race is set for 8:55 p.m.
All four racers will be making their 2012-13 indoor season debuts in Bloomington, as Hill, a five-time track and two-time cross country All-America selection, will try and kick-start the final chapter of his collegiate career. Hill is the school record-holder in the mile run, 1,500m and 3,000m events.
Colley did not compete during the 12 indoor season, but was an All-ACC selection after finishing second in the 3,000m and third in the 5,000m races.
Cozzarelli, a two-time All-America selection in the 10,000m event, will run alongside Thompson, an All-ACC performer in her freshman season in the 5,000m race on Friday.
