Ryan Hill Named ACC Men's Performer of the Week
Dec. 11, 2012
GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State redshirt senior Ryan Hill has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the league office.
Hill made his season debut Friday evening, Dec. 7, and was victorious in the men’s 5000m invitational run at the Hoosier Open at Indiana University. The Hickory, N.C., native won the event with a time of 13:43.52, which was not only more than seven seconds faster than any other runner in the event, but was also the fastest time in a 5000m event so far this season. Hill’s mark was also just four seconds behind Indiana’s all-time track record.
The Pack has now won the first two weekly men's awards handed down by the ACC so far this season, after senior Kris Kornegay-Gober won last week's award after his record-setting mark in the high jump.
After more than a month's break, NC State will return to action Jan. 18-19 at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
