NC State men's soccer returns home to host No. 9 Clemson on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in a match streamed live on ESPN3.com.
The Wolfpack (3-0, 1-0 ACC) kept its unbeaten and untied record intact with a 2-1 (2OT) win at William & Mary this week, sparked by Holden Fender's goal on a free kick with 1:19 remaining in the contest.
Clemson (4-0, 1-0) enters the contest ranked No. 9 by Soccer America and No. 15 by Top Drawer Soccer.
State opened Atlantic Coast Conference play one week ago with a 1-0 (OT) win over Pittsburgh at Dail Soccer Stadium, Nick Surkamp provided the dramatic game-winner in that match.
Through three games, the Pack's five goals have come from five different contributors. Along with Surkamp and Fender, Alex Martinez, Davi Ramos, and Clement Simonin have each added one goal on the year. Martinez and Simonin represent the Pack's leading scorers, with three points each.
The Wolfpack defense has been a highlight of the early season, with State holding its opponents scoreless for the first 249 minutes of the season before Pitt interrupted that streak in the 66th minute of last week's match.
NC State goalkeeper Fabian Otte sports a 0.31 GAA with eight saves and a pair of shutouts through 291 minutes.
Saturday's match is a tour stop for 5 Rights FC, an organization promoting campus and community water, food, health, housing, and education initiatives. 5 Rights FC will travel to 100 soccer games this fall as part of its campaign. For more on 5RFC, click HERE.
