Two current and one former members of the NC State wrestling team will be traveling to Stillwater, Okla., this weekend to compete in the U.S. World Team Trials.
Claimed a second place finish and All-America honors at 70 KG at the 2013 ASICS Junior Nationals ... Advanced to the U.S. World Team Trials ... Wrestled in the junior division at 74 KG ... Started his day with a 9-2 technical fall win over Micah Barnes, but fell to Alex Dieringer, who finished third at the 2013 NCAA Championships, in the next round ... Was then pinned by Brandon Kingsley, a university national finalist, in the wrestle backs to conclude his day.
2012-13: Pack's starter at 149 pounds ... Finished with a 16-9 record, including 6-5 in dual matches and was 4-5 against ACC foes ... Recorded a pair of falls and four major decision wins ... Tied as the Pack's highest finisher at the ACC Championships, claiming third place with a 3-1 record ... Defeated #31 Christian Barber of UNC by major decision to start, 8-0 ... In the wrestlebacks, scored a fall and a major decision to win both matches and place third ... Brought home a third place finish at the Reno Tournament of Champions, going 5-1 ...Won his first three matches, including a 4-0 win over #19 Justin Gonzalez of Northern Colorado ... Then fell to #3 Jason Chamberlain of Boise State, before winning a pair of matches in the wrestlebacks ... Also went 2-2 at the Southern Scuffle.
2011-12: Finished the season with 15 victories ... Pinned Shakiel Imhoff of Limestone at the Pembroke Classic ... Defeated Kevin Timothy of George Mason by fall at the Wolfpack Duals.
Prep: Class 2A state runner-up at 135 pounds as a senior in 2011, finishing the season with a 37-2 record...Finished third in the state as a junior in 2010...Had a three-year career record of 121-20...Competed in the 2011 East-West All-Star meet.
