CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The 17th-ranked NC State women’s golf team is in eighth place after one round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Invitational at the University of North Carolina’s Finley Golf Course. The Wolfpack shot a team total of 12-over par, 300, 10 shots off the pace of first place Virginia.

Senior Amanda Baker had the low round for the Wolfpack with a one-over par, 73. Junior Brittany Marchand shot a 3-over par, 75, followed by junior Ana Menendez and sophomore Lindsay McGetrick, who each shot a 4-over par, 76. Sophomore Augusta James carded a six-over par, 78 in the first round.

“The course played tough today,” said head coach Page Marsh. “Everyone worked on a few things after play today to be ready for tomorrow.

“They like this course and just need to trust their shots and be patient.”
