Pack Tied For 10th After Round One Of Bryan National Collegiate

BROWNS SUMMITT, N.C. – Sophomore Augusta James and freshman Rachael Taylor both carded 2-over 74 in the first round to lead the 23rd -ranked NC State women’s golf team to a 10th place tie with Georgia at 12-over 300 at Bryan National Collegiate. The event is being held at the par-72, 6,386-yard Bryan Park Champions Course.
The start of the tournament was delayed Friday morning by frost with the first golfers teeing off around 9:40 a.m., approximately 80 minutes after the original 8:20 tee time.
James and Taylor are tied for 24th in the individual standings. Juniors Brittany Marchand and Ana Menendez are tied for 45th after each recorded 4-over 76 on the opening day. Sophomore Vivian Tsui had a 5-over 77 in her opening round and is tied for 56th.
Virginia is atop the first-day team standings with a 7-under 281, followed by Vanderbilt in second at 2-under 286. Rounding out the top five are North Carolina and Arkansas, tied for third at 6-over 294 and South Carolina in fifth at 8-over 296.
UVa’s Elizabeth Brightwell is the tournament’s individual leader at 4-under 68.
