Pack Posts Three 9.9's, Season-High 196.050 Against LSU

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's gymnastics team started the meet against fifth-ranked LSU in grand style, highlighted by three scores of 9.9 on vault - the Pack's first event. The Wolfpack finished with a season-high 196.050, while the Tigers ended with a 196.925.
The Wolfpack started the night with an excellent showing on vault, finishing with a season-best score of 49.250, highlighted by three scores of 9.9. Junior Stephanie Ouellette, along with freshman Brittni Watkins achieved the mark to set career-highs. Diahanna Ham, junior from Boston, Mass., also tallied a 9.9. Junior Hannah Fallanca and freshman Michaela Woodford each scored a 9.775, while senior Morgan Johnson notched a 9.750.
The second rotation of the night pitted the Pack on bars, where it finished with a team score of 48.850. Senior Rachel Fincham, Ouellette and Watkins tied for the best score in the event for State with a 9.8. Ham and Woodford posted the final two scores counted in the event with a pair 9.725s.
At the halfway point in the meet, NC State trailed LSU 98.550 - 98.100.
Fallanca and Fincham led the way for State on beam, as both recorded a 9.850 to finish in a three-way tie for first place. Woodford tallied the next best score with a 9.825, while Ham scored a 9.775. Junior Kristen Harabedian rounded out the scoring for the Wolfpack with a 9.750. The gymnasts compiled a score of 49.050 on the apparatus.
On floor exercise, Ham and Watkins tied for State's best score with a 9.850, claiming third place. Sophomore Lane Jarred posted a 9.8, while Ouellette and Harabedian tallied a 9.725 and 9.675, respectively. The group finished with a 48.9 in the event.
In the all-around competition, Ham finished second with a career-best 39.250. Ouellette scored a 39.125, while Woodford notched a 38.850.
NC State will have a quick turnaround as it will host No. 6 Georgia, Sunday, Mar. 17 at 1 p.m. on senior day.
