    Gymnastics Finishes Fifth at NCAA Regional

    COLUMBUS, Ohio - The NC State women's gymnastics team concluded the 2013 season with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Regional Saturday evening at St. John Arena. The Wolfpack ended with a team score of 195.275. 

    Junior Kristen Harabedian, along with freshman Michaela Woodford, led the Wolfpack in the first rotation of the night on balance beam, with scores of 9.8. Senior Rachel Fincham posted a 9.775, while juniors Hannah Fallanca and Stephanie Ouellette each tallied 9.725. Diahanna Ham, a junior from Boston, Mass., also competed in the event scoring a 9.7. The Wolfpack finished with a team score of 48.825 on the apparatus.  

    State turned in a team score of 48.725 on floor exercise, highlighted by Ouellette's 9.850. Watkins notched the next-best score with a 9.825. Ham and sophomore Lane Jarred recorded scores of 9.775. Freshman Aubrey Hine made her debut in the lineup turning in a score of 9.5, as the final score factoring into the Wolfpack's total. 

    After the first two rotations, NC State was fifth with a 97.550. 

    The Pack recorded its highest team score of the night on vault with a 49.0. Ham and Ouellette tied for the best score for State with a 9.825. Watkins tallied the next highest vault with a 9.8. Fallanca, Jarred and senior Morgan Johnson each registered a score of 9.775. 

    Fincham highlighted the Wolfpack's performance on the uneven bars, turning in a score of 9.825 to finish among the top five. Ouellette tallied a 9.8, while Harabedian scored a 9.750. Ham and Woodford recorded the remaining scores factoring into the Pack's score in the event with a 9.7 and 9.650, respectively. NC State finished with a team score of 48.725 in the event. 

    In the all-around competition, Ouellette finished sixth with a 39.200, while Ham ended ninth with a 39.000.  

    In the team standings, LSU finished first with a 197.275, while UCLA claimed second with a 196.950. Arizona turned in a score of 196.100, good for third and Ohio State notched a 196.050 for fourth place. Central Michigan finished sixth with a 194.925.
