    NEWTON, Mass. - No. 23 Boston College scored five goals in the first 19 minutes in a 6-2 win over the NC State women's soccer team on Sunday afternoon at Newton Soccer Field.

    NC State (5-11, 0-7 ACC) freshman forward Brittany Stanko scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 13th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1, but Boston College scored three more times in the next six minutes to lead 5-1.

    Stephanie McCaffrey scored her second of the match early in the second half to make it 6-1.

    Freshman forward Rachel Harris scored in the 78th minute for the Wolfpack. She now has three goals on the season.

    Madison Shaw was in goal for the third-straight match for the Wolfpack, but was pulled after giving up those five early goals. Victoria Hopkins relieved the rookie and allowed just the one second-half goal by the Eagles.

    Shaw made three saves, while Hopkins had five in 71 minutes.

    Boston College (9-5-2, 3-4 ACC) got two goals from both McCaffrey and McKenzie Meehan, and one each from Kristen Mewis and Jana Jeffrey.

    The Wolfpack had 10 shots and five corners after halftime, compared to seven shots and 1 corner for the Eagles.

    NC State visits Wake Forest on Thursday in Winston-Salem, N.C., at 7 p.m.
