The Wolfpack enters conference play after a tough 3-2 setback at Kansas last Sunday that snapped a five-game winning streak. Freshman Brittany Stanko scored both goals and now leads the club with four goals and eight points.
Nine different players have scored at least once for the Wolfpack in 2012, which is one more than the entire team contributed in 2011.
Sophomore center back Shelli Spamer assisted on both of Stanko's goals on Sunday and leads the team with five helpers. That figure is one shy of the ACC lead. She has nine career assists already in her Wolfpack career.
Red-shirt sophomore Jennie Krauser has scored three goals in the last three games, including a pair in last Friday's win over Elon. Click this video link to see her amazing second goal against the Phoenix.
The Cavaliers (7-1) enter conference play on a seven-match win streak, their longest since a nine-game win streak in 2004. Last week Virginia posted home wins over George Mason and James Madison to win the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic.
NC State moves on to play at No. 9/7 Virginia Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m., in Blacksburg.
