Pack Softball Announces Fall Schedule

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State softball will compete in eight games this fall, head coach Shawn Rychcik announced Thursday. The Wolfpack will play two doubleheaders and take part in a two-day tournament in September.
State will open its fall schedule with a doubleheader at Longwood University in Farmville, Va., Sept. 21. The games are slated for noon and 2 p.m. The Pack will return to the diamond the next day at home to face Lenoir Rhyne. That contest will also be a doubleheader, with the first game commencing at 2 p.m. followed by the second game at 4 p.m.
On Sept. 28, NC State will begin play in the Ray Chandler Memorial College Tournament held in Raleigh at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex. The Pack will play Campbell in its first game at noon and Pitt Community College in its second game of the day at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 29, the squad will take the field against Elon at 10 a.m. and conclude its fall schedule versus North Carolina Central at 2 p.m.
Last season, Rychcik led the Wolfpack to the 2013 ACC Championship crown and an NCAA Regional. The team welcomes nine newcomers, while only three seniors departed due to graduation.
