RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's volleyball team enjoyed a successful first spring tournament last Saturday in Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack played a total of eight sets and won six of them.

"We saw some good things on Saturday," said head coach Bryan Bunn. " We also have a number of things to work on the next three weeks in order to get where we need to be at the end of spring training."

State began the day with matches against Campbell and Virginia Tech before facing Charlotte and UNCW in the second half of the day.

Junior Rachel Buckley paced the squad offensively with 27 kills and a .444 hitting percentage. The Carrollton, Texas, native also had eight blocks to lead the team in that category.

Tanna Aljoe, a sophomore from Grapevine, Texas, led the team in assists with 43 in four sets played and junior Alston Kearns headlined the defense with 27 digs.

The Wolfpack will compete in its next spring tournament on April 5 at Duke.
