Volleyball Concludes Regular Season at Wake Forest

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's volleyball team will conclude its regular season schedule on Saturday, Nov. 30, when it takes on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m. inside Reynolds Gym on Wake's campus.
The Wolfpack enters the contest with a 20-11 record on the season, including an 11-8 mark in ACC play. The squad dropped a 3-1 decision against the 15th-ranked Duke Blue Devils in its last outing on Wednesday.
Junior Dariyan Hopper leads the Wolfpack offensively this season with 335 kills, an averge of 3.22 kills per set. Rachel Buckley, a junior from Carrollton, Texas, owns the next best kills per set average at 2.38. Sophomore Tanna Aljoe and freshman Maggie Speaks have split time at the setter position with Aljoe recording 9.64 assists per set and Speaks 5.40.
Defensively, senior middle blocker Brie Merriwether has been a force on the front line with a team-leading 121 blocks, including 15 solo stops. Junior Alston Kearns paces the squad in digs with 4.19 per set.
SCOUTING WAKE FOREST
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have compiled a 15-16 record to this point in the season, including a 4-15 mark in conference action. In their most recent outing, the squad lost to No. 14 North Carolina, 3-0.
Senior Kristin Grissom leads the offensive approach with 335 kills or 2.99 kills per set. Grissom's classmate, Kylie Hargreaves, is second on the squad in kills with 2.70 kps. Freshman Sophia Dodd is the team’s setter and has dished out 8.83 assists per set. The team's libero, sophomore Megan Miller, leads the team with 479 digs, an average of 4.24 digs per set.
