RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's and women's cross country teams will take on two competitions this Friday, October 14th, as the teams split for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the VertCross Invitational. Both meets are set up in 6K and 8K formats for the women's and men's race, respectively.
In the latest USTFCCCA national poll, the women's team sits in the third position, jumping from the fifth spot after a stellar meet at Notre Dame. The men moved out of the rankings from the 23rd place they previously held, but still received votes.
Last Time Out:
At the Notre Dame invitational, the women's team had a strong meet, finishing second overall just behind the top-ranked women's program, Providence. Erika Kemp led the efforts, running a personal best time of 16:35.0. All five of the Wolfpack's scorers finished in the top 70 out 184 competitors. The men's team finished in 11th place, led by Sam Parsons, who finished second overall, which earned him the Men's ACC Performer of the Week award. True freshmen Elly Henes also received weekly honors, being named the ACC Freshmen of the Week after her personal best time of 17:04.1 and 44th place individual finish.
