No. 55 earned its first Top-25 win of the season in a 5-2 defeat of No. 24 Syracuse

RALEIGH - No. 55 NC State women's tennis maintained its undefeated home record as it upset No. 24 Syracuse 5-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Pack faced its highest ranked conference opponent to date in the Orange that now lists as its second ACC win of the season following a 5-2 victory at Louisville on Friday.

The Wolfpack dominated singles play Sunday afternoon, holding Syracuse to just one singles win after the Orange collected the doubles point.
Bianca Moldovan fell 6-2, 6-1 to No. 115 Gabriela Knutson early into singles action before the Pack went on a victorious sweep to collect the remaining five points. Tayla Stenta captured the first point for the Red and White at the No. 5 singles spot with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Libi Mesh. Joanna Nalborska battled early, earning the tiebreak win 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) over No. 124 Valeria Salazar and Claudia Wiktorin netted a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 comeback win to give the Pack a 3-2 edge over Syracuse.
Down to the final two finishes, No. 63 Martina Frantova came back to clinch NC State's upset victory with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over No. 42 Anna Shkudun. This is Frantova's highest ranked win on the season.
Frantova added, "It's great to get an ACC win and great to get one at home."
Amanda Rebol tabbed the Wolfpack's final point in a hard fought 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) win over Maria Tritou.
No. 55 NC State improves 8-3 overall, 2-2 in the ACC, 6-0 at home while No. 24 Syracuse drops its second match of the weekend, now 8-3 overall, 2-3 in the ACC.
Next up, the Wolfpack Friday travels to the west coast to face Long Beach State Friday and Pepperdine the following day.
