
Frantova Earns All-ACC Second Team Honor

Second conference accolade earned by the Wolfpack junior this week
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Wolfpack standout Martina Frantova (singles: 14-9, 8-6 ACC, doubles: 11-9, 6-6 ACC) of the NC State women's tennis team has been named to the 2016 All-ACC Second Team, as announced by the league office Thursday morning.
Currently No. 37 among the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) singles poll, Frantova is one of just 11 players in the ACC to maintain a top-75 ranking throughout the 2016 regular season. With a 14-9 overall record, she holds eight conference wins highlighted by victories over former No. 42 Anna Shkudun of Syracuse, No. 45 Quinn Gleason of Notre Dame, and a three-match win streak over No. 41 Kaitlyn McCarthy of Duke, No. 59 Kimmy Guerin of Wake Forest and No. 70 Asiya Dair of Boston College helped Frantova garner her first ACC Co-Player of the Week honor in the final week of regular-season play.

Frantova joined the Pack prior to the start of the 2015-2016 season as a transfer from Mississippi State. In her first season with the Wolfpack Frantova has consistently played the top of both singles and doubles lineups, helping the Red and White make program history with a record six conference victories. Her All-ACC Second Team honor makes her the 11th player in program history to garner a conference selection.
