RIO de JANEIRO- Simonas Bilis and Soren Dahl of the NC State men's swimming and diving team made their Olympic debuts on Tuesday inside the Olympic Aquatics Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

Bilis competed for Lithuania in the 100m freestyle and touched the wall at 49.16 to finish 30th in the overall standings out of 59 swimmers.

Dahl was a member of Denmark's 4x200m freestyle relay that finished 13th among the field with a time of 7:12.66. He swam the third leg of the squad and posted a personal-best split time of 1:47.43.

NC State will be represented in two more events in Rio, as Bilis is slated to swim the 50m free Thursday and Danish native Anton Ipsen will compete in the 1500m free Friday. Prelims will begin at 12 p.m. while finals will commence at 9 p.m. ET.
The swimming portion of the Olympic Games will run on television through Aug. 13 and be broadcast via NBC. On most days, NBC primetime programming will air from 8 p.m. to midnight ET/PT; daytime from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET/PT; late night from 12:35 a.m. to 1:35 a.m. ET/PT; and replays from 1:35 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. ET/PT.
