RALEIGH - No. 37 women's tennis prepares for a loaded week as it will face rival No. 2 North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., Wednesday before returning home to host No. 69 Florida State Friday afternoon followed by a doubleheader matchup against No. 7 Miami and No. 70 Winthrop Saturday.
PACK RISING:
NC State broke back into the top-40, listing No. 37 spot in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national poll. The team's five-spot improvement comes after a 5-2 win at Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon to capture its fourth ACC win of the season and even its conference record.
Martina Frantova also climbed up the singles rankings, jumping 25 spots to No. 38 following a three-match win streak, improving her record vs. nationally-ranked opponents to 9-5.

SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA (Wednesday):
No. 2 North Carolina boasts an undefeated conference record, maintaining its top-10 rank since the start of the 2016 season. The Tar Heels present the Pack with its toughest challenge to date, competing with a roster that includes three nationally-ranked singles players including No. 1, Hayley Carter and No. 30 Whitney Kay. The Tar Heels top two make up the No. 1 doubles duo, 13-1 on the season.

SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE (Friday):
No. 69 Florida State travels to Raleigh coming off a three-match losing streak. The Seminoles most recently fell to No. 44 Notre Dame followed by a 1-6 loss to No. 40 Syracuse, two opponents over which the Pack captured victories.

No. 39 Daneika Borthwick is the team's sole ranked player. Despite the team's recent losses, Borthwick has built a competitive resume that features four wins over top-50 opponents including a straight-set victory over Notre Dame's Quinn Gleason, similar to that of Frantova. Frantova and Borthwick faced off during the fall tournament season, resulting in a straight-set win for Frantova advancing her to the semifinal round of the USTA Clay Court Invitational where she later went on to earn the tournament title.

SCOUTING MIAMI (Saturday):
No. 7 Miami maintains its top-10 ranking for the third consecutive week and boasts the most stacked roster among the Wolfpack's week of competition. Highlighted by No. 5 Stephanie Wagner and No. 7 Sinead Lohan, together the Top-10 pair has collected three ACC Player of the Week honors in the last five weeks along with No. 61 Wendy Zhang's recent conference award. Together, Wagner and Zhang make up the No. 6 doubles duo.

The No. 7 squad is sure to bring a heavy level of competition to Raleigh as it finished the month of March 8-0 and collected wins over the No. 1 and No. 2 teams earlier in the season.
SCOUTING WINTHROP (Saturday):
The Wolfpack finishes off its four-match week hosting its only nonconference opponent, No. 70 Winthrop, as the latter portion of Saturday's doubleheader. The Big South opponent is in good standing to take the regular season championship with an 8-1 conference record.
IN-DEPTH: Winthrop season statistics
The Eagles' roster is lead by No. 124 Alice Garcia who boasts a 14-3 record at the No. 2 singles position. Although unranked, Winthrop also presents the Pack with a challenge at the No. 1 singles spot as Lauren Proctor holds a 16-1 record on the season.
SIMON SAYS:
"On the back of an extended week of practice last week and the win on Sunday over Pitt, we now have the two busiest match weeks of the season coming up. Starting this week at North Carolina, then home vs. Florida State, Miami and Winthrop, we have some great competition lined up. Our team goal all season long has been focused on continuing to develop throughout both semesters to enable us to play our best tennis when it matters most. I'm very confident that we have managed that, continue to progress and that we are eager to attack these matches implementing all of the experience we have gathered along the way. At this time of year I expect every team to be playing at an optimal level and that will make for some great competition. This is an exciting time, what it's all about and is exactly what we have been fighting so hard for all season long." - Simon Earnshaw, head coach
Fans planning to attend Friday and Saturday's home matches should plan on parking in the West Deck located on Varsity Drive. Live stats and video streams will be available during each of the three home matches.
