
Women’s Golf Signs Violeta Fernandez-Tagle, Giulia Foresta

RALEIGH – The NC State women's golf team added two mid-year transfers in Violeta Fernandez-Tagle and Giulia Foresta. The two student-athletes have transferred from Chattanooga with two years of eligibility remaining. Both will arrive at NC State for the spring semester and will start competing in fall 2026.
Fernandez-Tagle is coming off two stellar years with the Mocs. She is a two-time All-Southern Conference selection and was on the SoCon All-Freshman Team in 2024. Fernandez-Tagle leaves Chattanooga as the record holder in career scoring average (73.05), season par 4 scoring (4.08) and season par 5 scoring (4.85). Also in the Chattanooga record book, she finished with the third most cards in the 60s (8), fourth most career par/better tournaments (4) and fifth most career par/better rounds (24).
In 2024-25, Fernandez-Tagle started in all 10 tournaments to log a 73.37 scoring average, while counting in 29 of 30 rounds. She was named So-Con Golfer of the Week following a 6-under 210 at the Westbrook Invite with 12 birdies. The Spain native logged two top five finishes with third at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate and fourth at the SoCon Championships. As a freshman in 2023-24, Fernandez-Tagle started in all 11 appearances to log a team-best 72.76 scoring average and counting for 32 of 33 team scores. She registered six top 10 finishes and was a WGCA All-American Scholar.
Foresta joins her teammate after two great seasons for the Mocs. In 2024-25, Foresta started in all 11 tournaments, registering a 75.20 scoring average, the third best on the squad. She counted in 26 of the team's 30 tournament rounds. Foresta led the team in par 3 scoring (3.19) and finished with the second most pars on the team with 328. Her best finish came at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate where she tied for fourth with an even 213.
As a freshman in 2023-24, Foresta started in all 11 appearances and counted on 28 of 33 cards with a scoring average of 75.12, which was the third best scoring average by a freshman in school history. Her best finish as a freshman was at the Chris Banister Invitational where she tied for second. In her first two years in Tennessee, Foresta played in 21 tournaments and 63 rounds.
The fall season has come to a close and the Pack will be back on the course for the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico from Jan. 30 and 31.
