NC State Athletics Compliance
The NC State Department of Athletics is committed to compliance with all NCAA, ACC, and NC State University rules and regulations. The Chancellor and the Director of Athletics talk often about building a successful athletics program and how to accomplish that goal while abiding by NCAA rules. It is of great importance and part of our Strategic Plan that we create a culture of compliance within the NC State family to align ourselves with all NCAA rules.
Maintaining "institutional control" is our goal and we are fully aware that this must be a shared responsibility between our staff, coaches, student-athletes and supporters across the country. Maintaining institutional control involves four initiatives: (1) creating and maintaining a culture of compliance; (2) creating and following sound policies and procedures; (3) education of all our student-athletes, coaches, staff and supporters; and (4) monitoring.
Here are three general rules that, if followed, will help keep NC State safe:
1) Don't give anything of value to student-athletes, their parents, relatives of friends (outside of a permissible NIL deal);
2) Don't give anything of value to a recruit, their parents, relatives of friends (don't provide NIL deals to them);
3) Don't be involved in the recruiting process. ASK BEFORE YOU ACT!
