RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men's golf head coach Bo Andrews announced Friday that he has hired Kavan Eubank as an assistant coach.
Andrews and Eubank previously worked together for one season (2023-24) at Tennessee.
"I couldn't be more excited to bring Kavan Eubank on board as our new assistant coach," Andrews said. "We had the chance to work together at Tennessee, and I saw firsthand the energy, passion, and connection he brings to a team. He's a tireless worker who truly cares about developing student-athletes on and off the course. Kavan's the kind of coach who makes everyone around him better, and I'm proud to call him a teammate again as we build something special here at NC State."
Eubank comes to the Pack after spending last season as an assistant coach at Charlotte. Last season with the 49ers, Eubank helped guide Charlotte to two team victories, including helping the program win its first-ever American Athletic Conference Championship. Eubanks helped mentor three Charlotte athletes that would earn All-Conference honors.
Eubank aided in UT's successful 2023-24 season that featured the program's first team top-10 NCAA Championships finish since 1981.
During the 2023-24 season, the Vols captured a program-record-tying three team titles, and registered eight top-four team finishes. Additionally, the Big Orange earned their first ever No. 1 NCAA Regional seed while boasting an overall record of 143-35-1.
Tennessee capped off its season with a No. 7 overall national ranking and three golfers - including Evan Woosley-Reed who will compete for NC State this coming season - earn All-America Honorable mention status. That marked the first time in a single season in program history for three golfers to be tabbed All-Americans.
Prior to Tennessee, Eubank spent two seasons at Denver.
Aided by Eubank's guidance, Denver captured the Summit League conference title and qualified for NCAA Regionals during his first season in 2022, before finishing runner-up at the Summit League Championship in 2023.
Eubank started his collegiate coaching career at Boise State.
In Eubank's two seasons at Boise State, the Broncos improved from 90th in the country to 46th according to Golfstat rankings—resulting in NCAA Regional qualification in 2021 as an at-large selection.
Eubank coached two players to All-Mountain West selections, including Hugo Townsend who was selected as the 2021 Mountain West Golfer of the Year and went on to play in the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup.
Eubank played collegiately for two seasons at California Baptist (2014-16) before transferring to Texas A&M for his final two collegiate seasons (2016-18).
As a sophomore at California Baptist in 2015-16, the Meridian, Idaho, native earned PING Division II Third-Team All-America honors. That year, Eubank finished fourth at the conference championships, third in regionals, and eighth at the NCAA Division II Championships. He was named the 2015 PacWest Freshman of the Year.
During his junior and senior seasons at Texas A&M, Eubank competed in 11 tournaments. In 2016-17, he produced three top-10 finishes, including medalist honors at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.
