RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis program has officially eclipsed the 100 WTA/ITF Pro Circuit titles mark, with Priska Nugroho clinching the feat for the Pack on Saturday, Aug. 16, winning a W35 doubles title in Erwitte, Germany. Out of the program's first 100 pro titles, 97 of them have come in the past four years.
Â
"From the beginning in 2014, the goal was to make every effort to provide a culture where our players have the opportunity to grow as much as possible both on and off the court during their time in Raleigh," said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "In order to raise the level of the program and do this in a sustainable way, recruiting alone wasn't going to be enough at NC State."
Â
"It's been a very positive surprise to see how well the work we have done, and our mentality has scaled to WTA and ITF events. Some of it is possibly game style, most of it is just having a clear plan day in day out. David (Secker) being a huge part of this. Every week our players past and present relentlessly put themselves in position to be successful and it's really cool to follow."
Â
"I can't speak highly enough of the commitment of all our players to pursue competitive opportunities and their continued pursuit of gains. This is a year-round, long-term process and we are still at a very early stage with everything. Go Pack!!"
Â
Fourteen past and present Wolfpack players have won professional titles either during their time at NC State, or since they graduated and/or moved on from college tennis. Nugroho and Anna Rogers lead the way with 22 championships apiece, followed by Alana Smith (14), Diana Shnaider (10), and Abigail Rencheli (9). Additional title-winners include Amelia Rajecki (8), Adriana Reami (6), Jaeda Daniel (6), Anna Zyryanova (3), Nell Miller (2), Gabriella Broadfoot (2), Gina Dittmann (2), Maddy Zampardo (1), and Jasmine Conway (1).
Â
The Pack's success spans every level of competition, highlighted by Shnaider's 10 WTA titles. NC State players have also claimed four W100 titles, 11 W75 crowns, nine W50 wins, 34 W35's, and 33 W15 championships.
Â
Shnaider has headlined the Pack's professional success, capturing four WTA singles titles in 2024: WTA 250 Hua Hin, WTA 500 Bad Homburg, WTA 250 Budapest, and WTA 250 Hong Kong. She is also coming off her first WTA singles victory of 2025, winning the WTA 500 Monterrey title on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Â
Other standout singles achievements include Rogers' W35 championship in Herrenschwanden, Switzerland (Feb. 2025), Nugroho's W50 title in Navi Mumbai, India (Dec. 2024), and Broadfoot's W15 victory in San Diego, Calif. (May 2024).
Â
Doubles is a major strength for the Pack, accounting for 73 of the program's 100 pro titles. Rogers and Smith have combined for 34 of those championships, while Shnaider holds the Pack's highest-level crown with the 2025 Miami WTA 1000 doubles title.
