The 3000m steeplechase heats are set for Sunday, Sept. 14, beginning at 9:30Â p.m. EST, with the final scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 8:57 a.m. EST.
Napoleon qualified for the World Athletics Championships after finishing second in the 3000m steeplechase at U.S. Nationals, crossing the line in 9:10.96. Her performance ranked No. 1 in the NCAA at the time and set the Raleigh Relays meet record, Paul Derr Track Facility record and NC State all-time program record.Â
Throughout the season, Napoleon captured the ACC 3000m steeplechase individual title with a meet-record time of 9:27.85 and earned All-America honors with a third-place finish in the steeplechase at the NCAA Championships, becoming the 13th fastest American in the event.
Along with Napoleon, alumna Erika Kemp will represent Team USA and compete in the marathon on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 6:30Â p.m. EST.
