Salas Set to Compete in NCAA Rifle Championships

Smallbore Competition on Friday, Air Rifle on Saturday
RALEIGH – NC State's Ben Salas will represent the Wolfpack rifle program this weekend at the NCAA Rifle Championships held in Akron, Ohio. Salas, an individual qualifier for the NCAA Championships, will compete in both smallbore and air rifle at this weekend's championships.
Salas will compete in smallbore on Friday and air rifle on Saturday. The first relays on each day at James A. Rhodes Arena will begin at 9:15 a.m. A full schedule of this weekend's events can be found by clicking here. Links for live results and streaming (NCAA.com) are available.
Salas qualified as an individual in both air rifle and smallbore, posting a smallbore score of 589 and an air rifle score of 596 at NC State's NCAA Qualifying match in Annapolis, Maryland, on Feb. 18. He was one of four individual qualifiers for smallbore and one of seven individual qualifiers for air rifle.
As a team, NC State concluded its season with a seventh-place overall finish at the Great American Rifle Championships on Feb. 25-26. The Pack recorded a final team aggregate score of 4,682, which was 15 points higher than its 2022 tally at the GARC Championships.
